### Author Biography

Scarlett Thomas was born in London. She is the author of the Worldquake series, which includes _Dragon's Green_ and _The Chosen Ones_. She is also the author of nine books for adults, including _PopCo,_ _The End of Mr. Y,_ which was longlisted for the Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction 2007, and _Our Tragic Universe_. She teaches creative writing at the University of Kent.

**Erwin Madrid** is a children's book illustrator based in San Francisco, where he earned his BFA at the Academy of Art College. He has worked for PDI/Dreamworks Animation on films like _Shrek 2_ and the _Madagascar_ sequels. He has also done concept art for the gaming industry for titles like _Uncharted: Drake's Fortune_. In his spare time, Erwin travels and goes plein air painting.
