**Philip Steele** is the author of many nonfiction books for children. He has worked for publishers such as Dorling Kindersley, Quarto, HarperCollins, Macmillan, and numerous others. He regularly attends the London Book Fair.**John Farndon** is a London-based writer who studied earth sciences at England's Cambridge University and has taken a keen interest in the natural world ever since. He is the author of many books on the subject of the earth and its atmosphere, including DK's _Eyewitness Weather_ and _How the Earth Works._ He has been shortlisted three times for the Junior Prize of the Aventis Prizes for Sciences.
