### Author Biography

Irene Latham is the author of more than a dozen books, including two novels for children: _Leaving Gee's Bend_ and _Don't Feed the Boy_. Winner of the 2016 ILA Lee Bennett Hopkins Promising Poet Award, her poetry books for children include _Nine: A Book of Nonet Poems, Dear Wandering Wildebeest_, _When the Sun Shines on Antarctica_, _Fresh Delicious_, and _Can I Touch Your Hair?_ (co-written with Charles Waters). Irene lives near Birmingham, Alabama.
