### Author Biography

**Ravinder Bhogal** was born in Kenya to Indian parents. A journalist, chef, and restaurateur, her food is inspired by her mixed heritage and the UK's diverse immigrant culture. Her debut restaurant, Jikoni, was ranked 56th in the UK by the National Restaurant Awards within 7 months of opening and achieved a coveted place in the Michelin Guide in the same year. She has authored two books, including the IACP award-winning _Jikoni_ and the Gourmand World Cookbook Award-winning _Cook in Boots._ She is a monthly food columnist for the _FT Weekend Magazine_ and _Guardian Feast_, a contributing editor at _Harper's Bazaar_, and regularly writes for _The Observer Magazine_ and _Vogue_ online_._ She lives in London.
