### Author Biography

**Taye Diggs** is an actor whose credits include motion pictures (_How Stella Got Her Groove Back_ and _Chicago_), stage (_Rent_, _Wicked_), and television (_Private Practice_). He lives in Los Angeles and New York City with his wife, the actress Idina Menzel, and their son.

**Shane W. Evans** is the illustrator of numerous award-winning books for children, including _Black Jack: The Ballad of Jack Johnson,_ and _Osceola: Memories of a Sharecropper's Daughter,_ winner of the _Boston Globe-Horn Book_ Award. He lives with his wife and daughter in Kansas City, Missouri.
