### Author Biography

**Thomas William Hazen Rolleston** (1857-1920) was an Irish writer, poet and journalist, whose most admired works were _Celtic Myths & Legends_ and _The High Deeds of Finn Mac Cumhail_. He lived in Dublin, County Wicklow and Germany, finally settling in London, where he died. He studied at St Columba's College, Dublin, and Trinity College, Dublin. He founded the _Dublin University Review_ in 1885 and published _Poems and Ballads of Young Ireland_ (1888), and a _Life of Lessing_ (1889). In London in the 1890s he was one of the Rhymers Club and enjoyed an acquaintance - and rivalry - with W. B. Yeats.
