**Kate DiCamillo** is the author of _The Magician's Elephant_, a New York Times bestseller; _The Tale of Despereaux_, which was awarded the Newbery Medal; _Because of Winn-Dixie_, a Newbery Honor book; and six books starring Mercy Watson, including the Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor Book _Mercy Watson Goes for a Ride_. Kate DiCamillo lives in Minneapolis.

**Alison McGhee** is the award-winning author of books for all ages, including _Song of Middle C_, illustrated by Scott Menchin; the #1 _New York Times_ bestseller _Someday_, illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds; the young adult novel _All Rivers Flow to the Sea_; and the adult novel _Shadow Baby_, a Today Show Book Club selection. Alison McGhee lives in Minnesota.
