### Author Biography

**Michael L. P. Retter** was raised by three previous generations of central Illinoisans to have a deep appreciation for nature and in 2002 received a B.A. in Biology from Illinois Wesleyan University. He currently serves as Chair of the Indiana Bird Records Committee and helps review eBird records from Illinois and Indiana. He is editor of the _ABA's Birder's Guide Magazine_. **Brian E. Small** has been a full-time, professional bird and nature photographer for more than 25 years. He served as the Photo Editor for the American Birding Association's membership magazine, _Birding_, for the past 15 years. Brian lives in Los Angeles with his wife Ana, daughter Nicole and son Tyler.
