### Author Biography

**Paul Fleischman** is the author of many books for children, including the Newbery Medal-winning _Joyful Noise: Poems for Two Voices_. With Candlewick Press, he is the author of _Weslandia_, _The Dunderheads_, _The Matchbox Diary_, and _Eyes Wide Open_. He lives in Monterey, California.

**Melissa Sweet** has illustrated nearly one hundred books for children, including the Caldecott Honor books _The Right Word: Roget and His Thesaurus_ and _A River of Words: The Story of William Carlos Williams_. With Candlewick, she is the illustrator of _Baabwaa and Wooliam_ and _Firefly July: A Year of Very Short Poems._ Melissa Sweet lives in Rockport, Maine.
