### Author Biography

Glenda Armand has had a long career as a teacher and a school librarian. She is the author of _Love Twelve Miles Long_, for which she received Lee & Low's New Voices Award, as well as several other acclaimed books with a focus on African American history, including _Song in a Rainstorm_ and _Black Leaders in the Civil Rights Movement_. Keisha Morris earned her BFA in illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and mentored with award-winning illustrators Sean Qualls, Selina Alko, and Dan Santat. She is the illustrator of _Hair Story_ by NoNieqa Ramos, _When My Cousins Come to Town_ by Angela Shanté, and _For Beautiful Black Boys Who Believe in a Better World_ by Michael W. Waters.
