### Author Biography

**Jules Gill-Peterson** is US-based writer, activist, and the author of the award-winning book _Histories of the Transgender Child_, published in 2018. Gill-Peterson is a tenured associate professor of History at Johns Hopkins University and a General Editor of _TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly_, the journal of record in the field. She has earned a public reputation for fiercely advocating for transgender children and women, with interviews in outlets from NPR, to ABC, to _New York_ magazine. She was profiled by the _Guardian_ and published an op-ed on trans kids in the _New York Times_ in 2021. She has also written for the _New Inquiry_, _Jewish Currents_, the _Baffler_, the _Funambulist_, _Parapraxis_, and more. Gill-Peterson is the cohost of _Outward_, Slate's LGBT podcast, and a member of the _Death Panel_ podcast. She is also the narrator of the award-winning documentary _Framing Agnes_ (dir. Chase Joynt, 2022), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
