### Author Biography

**Virginia Woolf** was an English novelist and essayist whose titles include _Mrs. Dalloway_ (1925), _To the Lighthouse_ (1927), and _Orlando_ (1928). She was a pioneer in the modernist technique of stream of consciousness narrative writing, and a key figure in the Bloomsbury Group of intellectuals and artists.

**Jessica Gildersleeve, PhD,** is Associate Professor of English Literature in the School of Humanities and Communication at the University of Southern Queensland, and an authority on 20th century women writers.

**Tom Butler-Bowdon** is Series Editor of the Capstone Classics series, and has provided Introductions for Plato's _Republic_, Adam Smith's _Wealth of Nations_, Machiavelli's _The Prince_, Florence Scovel Shinn's _The Game of Life and How to Play It,_ and Kahlil Gibran's _The Prophet._ A graduate of the London School of Economics, he is also the author of _50 Economics Classics_ (2017) and _50 Politics Classics_ (2015).
