**Jennifer Yerkes** studied design and art history at universities in the United States, Austria, Hungary, and Scotland. Her books include _Red Light, Green Lion_ (Kids Can) and _A Funny Little Bird_ (Sourcebooks), which won the gold medal at the Society of Illustrator's 2013 "The Original Art" exhibition.
