He participated in research and writing on major topics such as the general history of China's agriculture and the history of technology, with titles including _The History of China's Agronomy_, _The History of China's Rice Culture_, _The General History of China's Agriculture - Song, Liao, Xia, Jin, and Yuan volumes_, _A Dialogue between China's Agriculture._
